About Bleeding & Clotting Disorders Institute (BCDI)

Located just south of Chicago, in Peoria, IL, the mission of the Bleeding & Clotting Disorders Institute (BCDI) is to provide integrated, family-oriented care, treatment and education for persons with bleeding, blood clotting and other blood disorders.

A Day in the Life of a Physical Therapist (PT)

Under the supervision of the Medical Director, you will perform initial and follow-up evaluations of bleeding and clotting disorders patients. Just as you have envisioned throughout your schooling, you'll emphatically develop and implement programs to improve and maintain general physical condition. This includes muscle strengthening, flexibility, and designing and implementing appropriate rehabilitative exercise programs, non-pharmacologic pain control modalities, and assistive devices for patients with musculoskeletal abnormalities. In addition, you will enthusiastically work with the medical team on new program development and innovative clinical research.  As new programs develop, this part-time position has the potential to evolve to full-time.
